Hector Perez Jr – President of the Board
Currently, Hector works as a Success Engagement Director for Salesforce.com and works with large enterprise customers in the United States. Hector is a United States Air Force veteran who served during Operation Desert Storm and originally hails from San Antonio Texas. Hector served a total of seven years as both the Air Force medic and a civil service nurse based at Lackland AFB and Sheppard AFB, Texas. After his military career Hector graduated from the University for Texas at Austin where he received his bachelors of business administration and later went on to earn his MBA from Texas State University. In this post military career Hector has worked in various roles within from business consulting to IT leadership the corporate world. Living in London for a few years, Hector worked with global teams deploying Salesforce for Dell Inc and has worked with the Salesforce platform since 2007. Hector holds the following Salesforce certifications; Salesforce Admin, Salesforce Advanced Admin, Salesforce Developer, Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant and Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant. Hector also volunteers as a “Big Brother” and executive board member for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central Texas.
Joe Castro – Board of Directors
Currently, Joe is a Sr. Director at Appirio, where he leads the technical pre-sales and delivery arms for Appirio’s central region. He holds Salesforce Certified Technical Architect, Developer, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant and Administrator Certifications. Joe has served in development, architecture, process design and leadership roles supporting the modernization of large sales and support organizations for 20+ years. He has focused on Salesforce and related technologies since 2008, guiding the architecture and delivery to over 15+ Salesforce projects. Joe brings a depth of technical expertise to optimize intricate design challenges and a breadth of sales and support process experience to keep those solutions business centered. Joe is a graduate of Rice University, and received his MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business. Prior to Appirio, Joe worked at Accenture, Dell and ITT Hartford.
Katherine Perez – Executive Director, Board of Directors
Kate Perez is an experienced marketing professional focused on the technology industry with more than 10 years of experience building strategic programs for companies such as a Cisco and Dell. Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and an M.B.A. from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Ballet Austin, President of the Board for the Symphony BATS, is actively involved in The Blanton Museum and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas. Perez is also part of the Advisory Board of the Texas Conference for Women and is a Next Generation Project Texas Fellow with the LBJ School of Public Affairs. She is a graduate of Leadership Austin’s Essential Class of 2013 and Emerge Class of 2009 and has previously been involved in organizations including Leadership Austin and Greenlights 501 Council.
Nolan Felipe Melson – Board of Directors
Currently, Nolan works in Austin as a Business and Test Analyst within the Capgemini Custom Software Development sector in addition to serving as the Capgemini Veterans Employee Resource Group’s (VERG) North America Co-Lead. Nolan is a United States Army veteran who served as an Air Defense Artillery officer specialized in the Patriot Missile System based out of Fort Hood, Texas. Nolan is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he received his Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering and was a four year letter winner on the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Gymnastics team. While serving as a West Point Cadet, Nolan also interned at General Electric Aviation, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (Redstone Arsenal), and NASA Kennedy Space Center during STS-135 “The Last Shuttle Mission.” Nolan holds certificates from Stanford University Graduate School of Business Summer Institute in General Management, Peking University Beijing International MBA Program (West Point Summer Exchange), NCEES Industrial Engineering (FE), The George Washington University Division of Information Technology Business Analysis, and Capgemini Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Nolan has also volunteered at the Dr. Bernard Harris Foundation and as a “Big Brother” for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Orange County, NY.
Elio Camey – Board of Directors
Elio is a Principal Success Specialist for Salesforce. Spanning a 22-year career in technology, Elio has led large-scale technology programs for global brands, to include Electronic Arts, Pioneer Electronics, Dun & Bradstreet, etc. He helped launch several world-first products – the original DVD-R drives (sold through by Apple – SuperDrive®, Sony and Hewlett-Packard) and QFLIX, the predecessor to Netflix.
As a United States Marine, Elio honorably served with Bravo Battery 1/14, 4th Marine Division from 1993 to 1999. Corporal Camey (NCO), managed personnel and ordinance logistics in a 155MM Artillery Battery. His exceptional service and Esprit de Corps earned him two meritorious promotions.
Elio holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree from Texas State University. Elio earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement Administration from California State University Long Beach. He also holds an Associate Arts Degree in Industrial Design from Golden West College.
Originally from Orange County California, Elio & wife Traci relocated to Austin 10 years ago, after being recruited by the then CEO of Roxio-Sonic. Over the last decade Elio has held numerous roles in the industry, including a stint as Chief Operations Officer for an Austin, Texas Start-up.
Elio holds the following Salesforce Certifications; Salesforce Admin, Salesforce Advanced Admin, Salesforce Developer, Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant and Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant.
Elio is also a volunteer at Saint Williams Catholic Church. He also served his community as a member of the Round Rock SERTOMA (Service To Mankind) foundation from 2012-2014.
Amy Flamenbaum – Board of Directors
Amy runs Salesforce consulting engagements and pre-Sales delivery processes as a Senior Manager in Accenture’s Cloud First Applications group. With over 20 years’ consulting experience, Amy has applied her technology, training, and change management skills to help transform organizations all over the world including Dell, MasterCard, University of Chicago, Arthur Andersen,and AlixPartners. With a focus on education, Amy brings experience creating and running Technical Boot Camp programs, building technical-certification-based curricula, and fixing business problems with training solutions. Her certifications include Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, Administrator, as well as a ScrumMaster and ITIL Fundamentals. Amy graduated from the University of Michigan with Bachelor degrees in Mathematics and Education.
